I could not believe how well the hat fit out of the box. The only concern I noticed is the has sits about 1/2 inch above where my hata usually sit. This is because the top of my head contacts the bottom of the center valley of the hat. I am confident that as the hat "relaxes the hat will move down If it doesn;t it fits perfectly and securly 1/2 inch above where I an acustomed.
Glad to hear the fit is good. My father in law used to say anyone can shape a hat but not everyone can fit a hat. Regarding the bottom touching the top of your head please let us know if it doesn't resolve. We have a few tricks that can aleviate the issue.

It's a shame Mines chose The Cow Lot for this partnership. Order fulfillment took FOREVER, the hat is meh, and customer service is a joke. The 150th Anniversary Hat was a great idea; execution by The Cow Lot was underwhelming. If you survived Mines, go somewhere else and get yourself a hat you can be proud of.
I'm sorry to hear you are disappointed. We worked the best we could within the parameters set by the school. As for fulfillment your hat was shipped within the shipping timeframe you chose (standard, 3 1/2-4 weeks). Yes, the liner took a bit to get corrected by the manufacturer and then shipped to the 1500 students that needed them. Each student had to be contacted which took some time. I apologize for the lengthy time it took.
I hope you can enjoy your hat, may it bring you fond memories of your time spent at the mines.

Ordered a non-standard shape Stetson from the Cowlot. Amelie and company worked with me on the sizing and shape, using their fitting guide and kit. Final result was well worth the wait.
Took me 50 years to get my Senior Stetson. Looks great, really happy with the hat.
Really enjoyed getting my hat from the Cow Lot - a special order for Colorado School of Mines - and even got some of my friends (Alumni) to get one as well. The hat fit very good and have had several compliments on it.
Happy to hear you enjoyed your experience! We had a good time meeting all the Alumni who came into town for Homecoming : )
As an alum of CSM I wanted to participate in the 150 year celebration and purchase an Engineer’s hat but I had not placed an order before traveling to Denver from the Midwest. The assistance provided and personable approach was beyond my expectations. The hat is a perfect fit and the branding to customize my hat added an exclamation point to the whole experience!!! Thank you to the salesman !
I'm so glad you're happy! We were honored to be invitied to particiate in your event, it was truly a pleasure to meet all of you and hear your stories of 'the old days' : )
