I'm looking at the Rodeo King 3X Wool. How well would a thick wool felt like that hold up to light rain? Should it start to lose shape, how well does it take to reshaping?

The primary factor influencing the durability of a wool hat is the type of lacquer used during the felting process. Heavier gram weight wool generally holds up better than lighter weights. Water repellent spray can be used to help shed water, but it may need to be applied multiple times, especially if you’re in light rain several times. In dryer climates, once a year should be sufficient. Always refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for any products you use on your hat. If your wool hat loses its shape, it can usually be restored with a good round of hat stiffener.

The Rodeo King 3x is an excellent hat. It features a heavier weight and a high-quality lacquer, making it well-suited for general Cowboy use.
