What makes 500X Pure Beaver more expensive than a 100X?
Beaver fur is graded.The closer you get to the belly of the pelt the softer and finer the fur. Plus there is a lot less Belly AVAILABLE than there is back.
Will one wear better or last longer?
Not necessarily. The advantage is you can produce is a lighter weight, thinner and softer finish with belly fur. It also creates a more clear color to the finish.
Do I have to baby my 100X?
Absolutely not. It’s the best wearing and longest lasting of all the fur felts.
It felts more tightly to keep out moisture. Moisture is the universal solvent.
Over time it dissolves the binder [lacquer} and separate the hairs. By binding so tightly the, 100% pure beaver felt will rappel the moisture longer than any other fur blend. So wear it!
